Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Texas BBQ different from regular BBQ?
Texas BBQ is all about the meat, the smoke and the time it takes to do it right. The focus is on simple seasoning, real wood smoke and low-and-slow cooking that builds bark, tenderness and deep flavor without relying on heavy sauce.
But it’s also about the experience. People show up early, wait in line, talk with the folks around them and know that when the meat sells out, it sells out. That sense of community is part of the tradition.
At SmokeDay, we bring that same Texas-style BBQ experience to Midway with real smoke, limited batches and food made to bring people together.
What days are you open?
SmokeDay BBQ is open on Fridays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. or until sold out. Come early the first in line is always free.
What’s the difference between the This Weekend Menu and the Preorder Menu?
The This Weekend Menu shows what you can order at the counter Friday and Saturday. The Preorder Menu shows what you can reserve ahead for weekend pickup, including meats by the pound, rack or piece, plus larger portions of sides and desserts.
Can I place a preorder?
Yes. Weekend preorders are available for pickup at Midway Market on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
You can preorder meats by the pound, rack or piece, along with sides and desserts in larger serving sizes.
To pick up your order that weekend, place your preorder by Monday. Pickup slots are limited to one order slot per hour, so we recommend ordering early.
Orders placed after Monday will be prepared for pickup the following weekend.
Feeding 50 or more people? Skip the preorder and check out our catering options instead. Fill out the catering form and we’ll bring the SmokeDay spread to you.
When do I need to place my preorder?
Place your preorder by Monday for pickup that Friday or Saturday. Orders placed after Monday will be prepared for the following weekend.
When and where do I pick up my preorder?
Preorder pickup is available Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Midway Market: 42 W Main Street, Midway, UT. Pickup slots are limited, so choose your time early.
Can I preorder a meat plate or sandwich?
No. Meat plates, sandwiches and our regular in-store menu are ordered at the counter. Preorders are for larger quantities of meats, sides and desserts.
Do you sell out?
Yes. We cook in limited batches, and popular items can go fast. Come early for the in-store menu or preorder ahead if you need a larger quantity.
What time should I arrive?
If you’re coming for the in-store menu, earlier is better. As always the first person in line is free. We open Friday at 11 a.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. and serve until sold out.
How much meat should I order?
A good rule of thumb is 5 to 8 ounces of meat per person, depending on appetites and how many sides you’re serving. Most meats ordered by the pound feed about 2 to 3 people per pound.
Do you offer catering?
Yes. If you’re feeding 50 or more people, check out our catering options and fill out the catering form so we can help you plan the spread.
Can merchandise and sauces be shipped?
Yes. SmokeDay shirts, hats and sauces can be shipped or picked up at Midway Market.
Can I order food for pickup and shipped merchandise in the same order?
No. If you want food for weekend pickup and merchandise or sauces shipped, please place two separate orders. Merchandise and sauces can also be selected for pickup instead.
